How to Hide Your Snapchat Score – Easy Steps

Snapchat is for fun, but it can be hard to remember that when you’re glued to the screen. The Snapchat Score, which shows you how many friends you have and how many people have added you as a friend, is a big part of that pressure. So we’re going to show you how to hide your friend score on your own phone—without deleting your account or making an alternate profile.

Open Snapchat.

Open Snapchat. Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of your screen. Scroll down, and toggle off Show My Friends.

Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of your screen.

  • Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of your screen.
  • Tap “Settings.”
  • Scroll down to “Snap Score” and tap to open it.

Scroll down to Account Actions.

On the Snapchat app, scroll down to Account Actions.

Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of your screen.

Scroll down to Account Actions and tap it.

Toggle off Show My Friends.

Go to your settings, and then Stories and Friends.

Tap Show My Friends, and then toggle it off.

You won’t appear in anyone’s friend’s list anymore (unless you change this setting at a later time). You also won’t be able to see other people’s score or their friends’ scores, either.

You won’t show up on anyone’s friend’s list, and any friend requests you have will be lost

If you use the “Hide My Score” option, then your Snapchat score won’t be shown on other users’ friends lists. You just won’t show up at all.

That means that any friend requests that you’ve sent will also be lost. This is a good thing if you’re trying to hide something from someone else, but not so much if it’s just something personal like an embarrassing photo of yourself or a video of your dog barking at nothing in particular (and we all have those).

If this sounds like something you want to do, here are some tips:

  • You can still send and receive snaps as usual! Your account will continue working normally—you just won’t appear on anyone else’s friends list.
  • If someone sends you a snap request while “Hide My Score” is active, they’ll get an error message saying “This user does not have their score set up.” That’s because since we don’t show scores for people with this setting enabled, our servers can’t verify whether or not they actually submitted the request themselves (or if someone else did). So unfortunately those requests will go nowhere until you turn off this setting again—but when/if that happens make sure to accept immediately!
